It is recommended that individuals arriving from outside of the EU should buy the KL+NNW
insurance packet (KL+NNW is a Polish acronym for "The Cost of Treatment in the Case
of Unfortunate Accidents"). Proof of purchased insurance, along with a health statement
number, must be presented at the time that medical care is received.

Depending on the type of health statement, individuals who have insurance may be released
from the costs of treatment or reimbursed upon return to their native country. Non-coverage
requires the patient to cover any costs of medical treatment.
